Beausejour Co-op is hiring a Full-time Pharmacist at our Beausejour Pharmacy location!

What you’ll do:

Reporting to the Pharmacy Manager, the candidate will be responsible for assisting with the day-to-day operations of the Pharmacy Department. Duties will include, but are not limited to:

  • Provide patient-focused services such as injections, medication reviews, and minor ailment prescribing to maximize patient care and provide professional advice and counselling.
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with health care professionals in the community to ensure optimal patient care.
  • Provide professional advice and counselling on prescription and OTC medications, including indications, dosage, adverse effects, and drug interactions.
  • Ensure all medication dispensing processes are accurate and appropriately managed while focusing on the timely delivery, reporting, invoicing, ordering, and communication.
  • Oversee all dispensing duties carried out by Pharmacy Assistants to ensure the accuracy and effectiveness of all prescriptions dispensed.
  • Review patient profiles to identify drug-related problems and monitor medication adherence.
  • Complete adjudication and sale of prescriptions and other purchases using the pharmacy software and point of sale (POS) systems.
  • Comply with all legal requirements (Federal and Provincial) and Pharmacy Standards of Practice.
  • Ensure that pharmacy records containing confidential patient information are secure from unauthorized access, use, disclosure, modification, and destruction.
  • Be familiar with quality management policies and procedures that include a process for reporting, documenting, and following up on known, alleged, and suspected errors, incidents, and discrepancies.
  • Other duties as assigned

Candidates must possess:

  • Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy (B.Sc.Phm.) or a Doctorate in Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) from a recognized institution.
  • Injection certification and current licensure in good standing with the relevant provincial College of Pharmacists is required.

Related Experience:

  • Experience in pharmacy is required.
  • Exposure to Kroll would be considered an asset.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Ability to work well in a team-oriented and fast-paced environment.
